Krazy Kat & Ignatz Mouse - Ignatz Photostat Model Sheet (Paramount Pictures Corporation Cartoon Studios, c. 1927-1929). "Zip! Pow!" This fabulous photostat model sheet is from the Paramount Pictures Corporation Cartoon Studios Production of George J. Herriman's Krazy Kat & Ignatz Mouse! Only three years after the Krazy Kat & Ignatz Mouse comic strip became a sensation, the duo made the leap to the silver screen in numerous animated short film adaptations spanning 1916 to 1940, each one starring the brick-tossing Ignatz Mouse and his hopelessly infatuated companion Krazy Kat. For more than two decades, seven studios distributed the shorts including International Film Service, Bray Productions, Winkler Pictures, R-C Pictures and Paramount-Famous, Columbia Pictures, and Screen Gems. This model sheet was produced by Famous Studios for Paramount Pictures distribution from 1927-1929 and features the Coconino County resident mouse in nine poses, depicting him with an array of expressions, and including one of his trademark hidden bricks. Measuring 14" x 11", this Ignatz model sheet is in Very Good condition, exhibiting a vertical crease and light wear from handling, but displays as a wonderful testament to the Paramount Pictures productions that faithfully adapted Herriman's Krazy Kat & Ignatz Mouse!
