About this work

In this reimagined cover for Cage #7 – “The Evil and the Cure”, Chris Ivy revisits the early‑1990s Luke Cage series by placing Cage in a dominant central pose, strangling Hardcore as supporting heroes frame the scene. The black‑and‑white original combines tight linework with solid blacks and screen‑tone effects, while the accompanying color print mimics a vintage Marvel cover, complete with logo, price box, anniversary corner box, and Comics Code seal. Together, they pay homage to the visual language of 1990s Marvel covers and foreground Cage as a key Black superhero figure in that era.
